Fall sale is coming soon!

The summer sure has gone by fast! I can't believe I am already getting ready for the fall sale. I am very excited about another great event!
I am are already getting a lot of people signed up to consign and the Famlily Expo planning is in full swing as well. I do have a couple booth spaces still available, so if you have a business that you want to showcase please get in touch with me as soon as possible.
This coming sale will have a couple changes to it. The pre-sale will be on Friday October 14th from 6:30-8:30pm. Volunteers shop first as always. They will get in at 6:30. All other pre-sale pass holders will get in at 7:00.
The public sale will run on Saturday the 15th at 9am. Regular sale will go until 2:00 and then the half off sale will go until 4:00.New this time is a stuff a bag sale. This will be at 6pm-8pm. Anything you can fit in a standard size shopping bag is yours for just $5!!
We will also be having a Family Expo raffle! You can get free raffle tickets from our Expo businesses. We will be raffling off a basket with goodies donated from these businesses. Don't forget to stop by their booths for tickets!
Again, I am so excited for another incredible event! I hope you and everyone you know with kids (or expecting parents) will come check out all the great deals!!

New Sale Location!

I am very excited to announce that we will be having a Back to School sale in Bayfield!! This sale will be on Saturday August 13th from 8am-4pm at the Old Middle School Gym on South Street. Consignor space will be limited so if you live in Bayfield, Pagosa, or Ignacio and want to consign then you need to sign up soon. I will have registration open soon!

Exciting News for 2011 Fall Sale

At each WeeCycle sale I learn new things. Since Sara and I started this business from the ground up we have always found things that do and don't work at each sale and then make changes going forward. Each sale seems to get a bit more "figured out" and therefore there are fewer changes. Here are the changes for the fall 2011 sale.

SUNDAY CLOSURE: The 2011 Fall/Winter sale will run all day on Saturday October 15th, but will not be open on Sunday. I am also changing the pre-sale day/time. The Volunteer/Consignor/New Mom Sale will be held on Friday evening. The pre sale will now be at least 2 hours long as opposed to 1 hour long. Volunteers will still shop first. Exact times have not been determined but it is likely that volunteers will get in at 6pm and all other pre sale pass holders at 7pm. I hope that the extra time will make the pre sale a little less chaotic and allow you more time to browse without feeling frantic. This will also allow us to open to the public earlier on Saturday morning.

50% OFF SALE: At around 2:30pm on Saturday, customers will be required to ring up their purchases and leave the Exhibit Hall. We will re-open at 3:00 for the 50% off sale.

PICK UP: Pick up of unsold items will take place on Saturday from 7pm-9pm. I realize a Saturday night may not be the most convenient time for pick up and I appreciate you making every effort to make the pick up on Saturday evening. However, let me know if this is impossible for you.

ELIMATION OF FREE HOUR:

In the past we have offered “free hour” to families in need. This was for invited families to come and take what they wanted from the items marked “donate”. Unfortunately, we have had a very low turn out for this and it has left me with a lot of items to haul away. This fall instead of free hour their will be $5 Stuff a Bag sale. Come and fill a regular size shopping bag for just $5. Only cash & checks will be accepted for the stuff a bag sale. These will be items that consignors have chosen not to pick up after the sale and consignors will not get credit for these items being sold. If, as a consignor, you are not comfortable with this, please plan to pick up all your unsold items. We are doing this solely to reduce the amount of leftover items to be disposed of. Community organizations will be receiving vouchers so that families in need can still receive free items.

Baby Expo

I am so excited once again this spring to have a great group of businesses participating in the Baby Expo! There is such a diverse group and I think our shoppers will love seeing what they have to offer! So far we have....

Skills for Living and Learning will be sharing information on their amazing programs to help kids with sensory integration disorders and more.
Serving Life Chiropractic giving information and demonstrations on family care
San Juan Basin Health Department sharing what services they offer including WIC
Ella Bees Blooms will have the cutest hats and accessories
Jes Graves, LMT will be giving pre-natal massages
The Guitar Dojo will be sharing information on her guitar lessons for kids
PixieKids Toys will have the most adorable handmade toys you have ever seen
Scensty Candles will be there to show you how you can safely have candles in your home, even with children around.
I still have a couple booth spaces available if you are interested in sharing your business with the community.

First Blog Post

Hi. This is the first blog post by WeeCycle Durango. Who is WeeCycle Durango you ask? We are the leader in kids consignment sale events in the four corners area. WeeCycle Durango started in September of 2009 by two moms in Durango who wanted to find a way to pass along our no longer used baby, kids, and maternity stuff without having to deal with posting on websites and shipping things. We knew that in bigger cities people had these great consignment sales and we decided that we needed that here! So we created WeeCycle Durango. Our first sale we were shocked at the amount of stuff people brought to sell and how many people came to shop! Since that first sale we have grown from being in a 3000 square foot building to a 10,000 sq foot building, and we still get full! Our last sale was also the first time we introduced a bar code system. Although some consignors were a bit worried about it being difficult the feedback was that it was so easy to use. It also makes it so easy to see what you have sold, have tax receipts if you donate items that don't sell, and it allows us to get checks out very quickly!It also makes checkout so much faster! This next sale in April will be even faster as we have added another barcode scanner and we are doing away with pulling tags. This should make checkout much faster and effecient. I am so excited about this!
At our last sale we also started a Baby Expo which was a great way for other people with small businesses that related to kids and families to get noticed. This was a great success so we will continue to do that.
Currently WeeCycle has only one owner. My wonderful partner was not sure if she was staying in the area so she handed the business solely to me. Lucky for me, she is still around as my friend and a great helper!
